Albert Ee to launch Pilgrim Partners Asia Pte $28mm

Since announcing his new global macro hedge fund venture in January of this year, Millennium Partners veteran Albert Ee has changed the new firm’s name, hired a former coworker as a lead portfolio manager and successfully raised $28 in assets under management. According to Bloomberg, his new firm, Pilgrim Partners Asia Pte will launch its flagship Pilgrim Asian Macro Fund early next month.

Prior to founding Pilgrim Partners, which was originally named AE Capital Management, Mr. Ee headed up the Asian office of Israel Englander’s Millennium Partners. He will manage Pilgrim Partners’ portfolios alongside Lawrence Lee who joins Pilgrim from palm-oil trader Wilmar International Ltd. Earlier in their careers, Mr. Ee and Mr. Lee previously worked with each other at Citigroup’s Tribeca Global Management and before that at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Pte Ltd.

The Pilgrim Asian Macro hedge fund and Pilgrim Partners’ managed accounts will pursue a global-macro strategy by investing in forex, commodities, equities, and interest-rate futures.
