April a Good Month for Hedge Fund Returns

| Hedge fund investors took advantage of rallies in both the bond and stock market in April to record average returns of over 1% for the month. Two indexes that track hedge fund performance, one produced by Hedge Fund Research and another compiled by Hennessee Group, were up 1.29% and 1.5%, respectively, in April. Paulson & Co. had a particularly strong month as the firm’s Recovery Fund, which takes positions in financial companies hurt by mortgage writedowns. | ||
