Chicago & Texas continue to dominate Central U.S. Hedge Funds List, Leading 4.6% Asset Surge

The rankings for the Top Central U.S. Hedge Funds have been released, revealing that the top 50 hedge funds oversee a combined $136.1 billion in equity assets, having seen their assets increase by 4.2% quarter-over-quarter.

With 20 hedge funds on the list, the Chicago Metro area once again has the most funds on the Top Central U.S. Hedge Fund List.

The state of Texas has 18 hedge funds on this quarter’s list, with the Dallas–Fort Worth area housing 12 the top funds. DFW’s hedge funds claimed 4 of the top 20 spots on the list overall, including industry stalwarts Carlson Capital at #2 and HBK Investments at #9.

Thirty-three of the hedge funds on the list saw their assets increase over the quarter, driving a combined $11.1 billion in assets. Leading the top gainers were three Chicago-based hedge funds: Citadel Investment Group, Alyeska Investment Group and Pentwater Capital Management.

The Top Central U.S. Hedge Fund list includes 50 hedge funds ranked by their U.S. equity assets under management. Hedge funds on the list are headquartered in a range of Central U.S. states, primarily including the states of Illinois, Texas, and Colorado.
