Citadel Investment Group veteran Simon Leversha launches Imperia Asia hedge fund

Late last month, Simon Leversha, a former managing director of Citadel Investment Group LLC, launched the Imperia Asia Offshore Fund. According to Bloomberg, the Asian focused hedge fund invests in Asian securities which have been affected by such corporate events as mergers and acquisitions within three to six month timeframes.

In an interview on May 25, Mr. Leversha stated that the firm will launch with assets under management of $10 million, all of which has been provided by Imperia Asia’s partners. Mr. Leversha founded Melbourne-based Imperia Investment Group Pty earlier this year.

Imperia Investment Group’s founding Principals include: Amy Zhang (Portfolio Manager), Hector Colon (Global Head of Trading and Technology), and Vernon Van Eck (Chief Operating Officer). Ms. Zhang was previously a managing director and portfolio manager at the Blackstone Group where she focused on event-driven investment opportunities. Mr. Colon was previously a trader at Magnetar Capital, while Mr. Van Eck was at Sydney-based Ellerston Capital.
