Connective Capital’s Short Strategy Gains 85%, Faces Redemptions

Connective Capital’s Short Strategy has achieved an 85% gain this year, while over the same period, its benchmark NASDAQ Index has posted a 42% loss. Despite the strategy’s remarkable performance, investors have submitted redemption requests for approximately 20% of the strategy’s assets. According to a Reuters article, the redemption requests are mostly from investors and fund-of-funds that are in need of cash.

Connective Capital Management, LLC is an equity hedge fund manager that focuses on the technology and alternative energy sectors. The firm was founded by current Portfolio Manager Robert Romero in 2003.
