Daniele Benatoff and Ariel Roskis’ Benros Capital Partners nears launch

Daniele Benatoff’s and Ariel Roskis’ Benros Capital Partners was authorized by the United Kingdom’s Financial Services Authority (FSA) earlier this week. Benatoff and Roskis left Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies team in London in January to found Benros Capital.

The new London-based hedge fund firm will reportedly employ an event-driven investment strategy that will focus on European equities. In January of this year, it was revealed that Benros Capital had received $300 million in seed capital from Brummer & Partners, a Swedish hedge fund firm.

According to Benros Capital’s FSA filing, Benatoff and Roskis’ founding team includes Salvatore Croce, Paul Dalton, and Conrad Levy. Dalton and Croce both join the new firm from Goldman Sachs, where they held the roles of Executive Director and Trader, respectively.

Before joining Benros Capital as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, Conrad Levy was CEO of hedge fund consultancy Elsworthy Associates and a specialist external consultant for PwC. In 2008, Mr. Levy led the wind-down of Peloton Partners, a $2.5 billion multi-strategy global macro hedge fund manager that closed down during the financial crisis.
