Five charged in Axxium Mortgage’s $14.6 Million Fraud

Five defendants, from Axxium Mortgage Inc. and law firm Bennett & Doherty in Pennsylvania, are facing charges relating to 35 fraudulent mortgages totaling $14.6 Million. The defendants targeted homeowners facing foreclosure, falsely promised to save their homes and obtained numerous fraudulent mortgages.

According to the Dow Jones Newswire, the defendants are formally charged with conspiracy to wire and mail fraud, wire and mail fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. The five defendants face 200+ years in prison and fines totaling above $3 Million.
