GLG Drops from #1, Toscafund Falls Off of EUROPE50

| The Hedge Fund Journal has released the 2009 EUROPE50 list of top European hedge fund managers. Notably, total assets managed by the top 50 hedge funds fell from $366 billion in 2008 to $271 billion as of 1/31/09. Having lost a third of its assets management over the past year, GLG Partners fell from the #1 to #4. Activist manager Toscafund, which had an estimated $6 billion last year, completely fell off the list. Noteworthy activists that made this year’s list include: #8 Children's Investment Fund Management (9.5 bn), #20 Polygon Investment Partners (4 bn), and #50 Centaurus (2.5 bn) | ||
