GLG Partners Completes Acquisition SocGen UK

Last week, hedge fund manager GLG Partners (NYSE: GLG) announced that it had complete its purchase of Societe Generale Asset Management UK (SGAM UK) from Societe Generale. As of 12/31/08, SGAM UK had over $8bn in assets of management.

Launched in the UK in 1998, SGAM UK is a provider of specialist investment strategies to retail and institutional clients. The company offers a number of equity strategies, including UK, European, Global Emerging Markets, Middle East, North Africa, Technology and Japan.
