Galle Global Macro Partners and Cypress Lane wind down
| Sri “Wije” Wijegoonaratna recently announced that he will be closing down his hedge fund, Galle Global Macro Partners LLC, by January 31. Wijegoonaratna started the fund in February 2010 with $450 million after stints at Fortress Investment Group, Banyan Fund Management and Citigroup. According to Bloomberg News, Wijegoonaratna’s closure announcement letter cited recent redemptions from the fund and disappointing investment returns as reasons for the shutdown. Another hedge fund, Cypress Lane, will also be shutting its doors soon. Cypress Lane was founded only about a year ago by former Goldman Sachs trader Shafiq Karmali. | ||
