In this week’s hedge fund hire report, we look at some large hedge fund managers that have recently made additions to their investment teams. The first hedge fund manager is Raj Rajaratnam’s Galleon Management, which hired industry veteran Jim Dormer as a portfolio manager. Prior to joining Galleon Management, Mr. Dormer was at Steven Cohen’s SAC Capital Advisors .

Gartmore Investment Management recently hired Leigh Himsworth as Head of UK Equities. Mr. Himsworth joins Gartmore from Royal London Asset Management where he was the manager of the Royal London Mid-Cap Growth Trust, which produced top decile returns since inception. His appointment is the seventh in a string of new hires as part of a major shake-up at the asset manager. Mr. Himsworth will report to Gartmore’s Chief Investment Officer, Dominic Rossi.

Sao Paulo, Brazil-based BTG Investments LP has added Donald Ewer to its Hong Kong investment team. Mr. Ewer was previously a director within Citadel Investment Group’s special situations group in Hong Kong. At BTG, Mr. Ewer will be responsible for Asian credit strategies as well as focus on expanding the firm’s Asian investment management businesses.

Finally, John Brennan’s Sirios Capital Management has capitalized on the lack of promise in the investment banking industry by hiring analysts from several large banks. In reference to the quote:"Chris Felipe and John Brennan’s Sirios Capital Management": Chris left about 8 years ago, I'd think you'd call the fund "John Brennan's".
