Green Technology Shows Signs of Life
| August 18th, 2009 | ||
| Venture capital investments in clean technology are up 73% for the second quarter of 2009 compared with the first quarter. According to a Reuters’ article, this brings the total investment figure for the year to $572 million. Much of the investment dollars are flowing to “smart grid” technology, lithium-ion batteries and energy storage, as opposed to solar and wind power technology. Many give credit for the new investments dollars to the US Department of Energy’s $100 billion stimulus plan for clean technology as well as belief that the recession is slowly drawing to a close. | ||
