Hedge Fund Founder Chris Hansen set to parlay Facebook IPO Winnings into a Seattle Basketball Team

Valiant Capital Partners founder Chris Hansen is teaming up with Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer in a bid to bring Sonics basketball back to Seattle. As reported by Financial Alternatives, Chris Hansen, a Seattle native, hedge fund investor and a billion dollar winner in the Facebook IPO sweepstakes, is backing a $400 million deal to buy the Sacramento Kings.

Hansen has also committed to raising the investment needed to build a new arena. The deal still has to be approved by the NBA Board of Governors which has also agreed to entertain a counter bid by an ownership group from Sacramento.
