Henderson Group Finalizes New Star Acquisition

The Henderson Group plc announced today that it had finalized its acquisition of New Star Asset Management Group, which managed 74 funds with approximately $13 billion in assets under management. The deal was first announced in January when Henderson agreed to buy the troubled asset manager for approximately $170 million.

Only 9 of New Star’s portfolio managers will continue to manager their funds, including: Nick Sheridan (European Value/ Global Equity), Guy de Blonay (Global Financials), Richard Pease (European Growth), Simon Rowe (European Growth), Trevor Green (UK Growth) and James Gledhill (High Yield). The other 16 New Star managers are being replaced by members of Henderson’s investment teams.
