Icahn, Highside, & Greenlight Blind-Sided, Memo States that Guaranty Bank may be Seized

Reports have arisen suggesting that the FDIC will seize troubled Texas-based Guaranty Bank (NYSE: GFG). According to an article by Teri Buhl on Goingconcern.com, a SEC Memo is circulating that says Guaranty Bank will be seized, and not sold, as had been anticipated. This news will be jolt to the bank’s top investors, which according to 3/31/09 SEC filings, includes many marquee hedge funds such as Carl Icahn’s Icahn Associates (18,519,628 shares) , H. Lee Hobson’s Highside Capital (9,938,211 shares), David Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital (8,317,242), Daniel Loeb ‘s Third Point Management (4,399,047 shares), Steve and John Stein’s Financial Stocks (1,295,209 shares) and Robert Pohly’s Samlyn Capital (566,252 shares).
