Jana Partners LLC’s investments ready to bloom after Sales of Business Units

Share prices for two of JANA Partners LLC’s portfolio holdings– Rockwood Holdings Inc (ROC) and Fifth & Pacific (FNP) have risen based on recent bids for some of their business units. As reported by Bloomberg, Rockwood shares rose 1.2 percent to $64.01 and the shares of Fifth & Pacific recently hit a 5-year high of $21.06.

JANA Partners LLC’s fund manager, Barry Rosenstein sees Rockwood Holdings Inc as an $80 takeover target and the shares of Fifth & Pacific at $28, once they shed their less profitable units. Blackstone Group LP, Bain Capital and TPG Capital LP have each made bids for the various business units of Rockwood Holdings Inc, while Leonard Green & Partners has shown interest in Fifth & Pacific.
