| Horseman Global Fund’s portfolio manager John Horseman has announced his decision to step down after the fund’s value fell nearly 25% in 2009, despite achieving 31% returns in 2008. Mr. Horseman, who founded London-based Horseman Capital Management in 2000, now joins James Pallotta of Raptor Global, William von Mueffling of Cantillon Capital Management, and Timothy Barakett of Atticus Capital in the growing list of renowned hedge-fund managers who have stepped down this year. According to Bloomberg, Russell Clark and John-Paul Burke, who had managed the Horseman Emerging Markets Funds, will take over management of Horseman Value Fund after the firm’s Emerging Markets fund closes in 2010. Horseman Capital Management was founded by John Horseman in 2000 and launched its flagship Horseman Global Fund in 2001. Mr. Horseman had previously spent over 10 years at GAM International Management as a portfolio manager. | ||
