Klintberg Launches Kima Capital

Justin Klintberg, former manager at Marble Bar Asset Management LLP, has started his own Asia-focused hedge fund which began investing on July 3 with about $6.3 million under management. According to Bloomberg, the firm, named Kima Capital Management Pty, will trade stocks affected by events such as rights issues, spinoffs, and mergers and acquisitions. According to research conducted by Bloomberg, Asia-Pacific companies have sold $42b worth of shares to existing investors in rights issues since the beginning of 2008. Besides event-driven investments, which will comprise about 70% of the company’s investments, Klintberg will devote about 20% to arbitraging and the remainder will be invested in initial and additional stock offerings.
