Lansdowne Partners, a London-based hedge fund manager, is teaming up with co-founder of Children’s Investment fund (TCI), Patrick Degorce. According to the Times online, Degorce will be launching a global equities fund under Lansdowne which will function independently. Degorce is planning on raising $1.5b (£925m) for the fund which is to be named Theleme.

Degorce worked with both Peter Davies and Stuart Roden, co-managers of Lansdowne’s flagship fund at Merril Lynch and as one industry analyst noted, is “one of the most intelligent managers around.” Degorce’s fund, which is planning on charging incentive fees based on performance rather than annually, will launch sometime in the fall.
