Martin Currie Launching Hedge Funds Open to Retail Investors

Martin Currie Investment Management, an Edinburgh-based investment advisor, announced that it will launch three hedge funds that will be open to retail investors. The funds, which are scheduled to launch in September, will bring Martin Currie’s hedge fund portfolio to a total of 10 funds. The launch is slated to include a natural resources fund, Japan fund and Europe fund.

Martin Currie is circumventing the traditional rules that limit hedge fund clients to high net worth individuals and institutional investors by registering the funds as Ucits-compliant investment vehicles.
