Fortress Investment Group LLC has lost Scott Lawin to Louis Bacon’s Moore Capital Management. According to Bloomberg news, Mr. Lawin, who was formerly the COO for the Fortress Drawbridge Global Macro Hedge Funds, joined Moore Capital in January.

Moore Capital, which has offices in New York, Washington DC and London, was founded in 1989 by Mr. Bacon and now manages series of hedge funds including the Remington Investment Strategies and Moore Emerging Markets, among others. Over the past year, Moore Capital has poached a number of industry veterans from rival firms. The most notable additions have been Jean-Philippe Blochet from Brevan Howard Asset Management and Greg Coffey away from GLG Partners.

Bloomberg also reported that Patrick Dennis joined Fortress Investment Group in February as CFO of its Drawbridge Global Macro Hedge Funds. Mr. Dennis replaced Kevin Treacy who had departed the firm. Patrick Dennis previously held senior positions at James Pallotta’s now defunct Raptor Capital Management LP and Eric Mindich’s Eton Park Capital Management LP.
