| March 13th, 2009 | ||
| Robert Earl, Richard Weed and Geoff Kelly have founded Vernon Square Capital LLC and are planning to launch its first hedge fund with a market-neutral strategy next month. In 2004, the firm’s chief operating officer, Robert Earl opened the Boston sales office of Barclays Capital. Prior to Barclays, he spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs. The fund will be managed by co-portfolio managers Richard Weed and Geoff Kelly, both formerly of mutual fund manager Putnam Investments. The fund is going to be 100-to-150 long and 200-to-250 short. The fund will not just be market neutral, but will also seek to be cash and industry neutral. The firm is hoping to launch with up to $25 million in assets under management. | ||
