Perella Weinberg Hires Christopher Bittman, Adds Almost $900 Million in Assets

Perella Weinberg Partners’s Asset Management Group announced that it has hired Christopher Bittman to fill the Chief Investment Officer post for its Agility Funds. In a press release, Perella’s management spoke glowingly about Mr. Bittman’s “combination of talent and experience” and “deep understanding of the investment management business.”
Mr. Bittman has served as the Chief Investment Officer for the University of Colorado Foundation since 2004. The Foundation received the “Large Foundation of the Year” from Institutional Investor’s Foundation & Endowment Money Management Magazine for 2007 under his guidance. As part of his hiring, the firm will take responsibility for the investment management of the UC Foundation’s nearly $900 million in assets. Before the foundation, Mr. Bittman managed over $5 billion as President & CEO of Jurika & Voyles. He got his start on Wall Street at Merrill Lynch, where he became the youngest Regional Manager in the firm’s history.
Perella Weinberg Partners is an independent financial services firm that was founded in 2006 by CEO Joseph R. Perella and Partner Peter Weinberg. The firm provides clients with corporate advisory and asset management services. Perella Weinberg Partners manages the Perella Weinberg Partners Oasis and the Aileron hedge funds, as well as a large endowment investment platform.
