Ramius Capital Group announced the creation of Ramius Trading Strategies and the launch of the RTS Global Fund last month. The RTS Global Fund will offer investors “exposure to hedge funds focused on active trading strategies, primarily Managed Futures and Global Macro, through RTS’s newly developed managed account platform.” RTS is a subsidiary of Ramius Alternative Solutions and is led by William Marr, former Global Head of Hedge Fund Research and Portfolio Construction at Merrill Lynch.

Alexander Rudin and Nadine Haidar are also joining the RTS investment team as Director of Investment Research and Head of Business Due Diligence, respectively. Mr. Marr described Ramius’ new RTS Global Fund as “a concentrated single strategy, multi-manager portfolio trading across roughly 250 markets in commodities, currencies, equities, and fixed income.”

Ramius Capital Group is a hedge fund management firm founded in 1994 by Peter Cohen. In November 2009, Ramius acquired boutique investment bank Cowen Group Inc. (NASDAQ: COWN) and the firm now operates as the global alternative investment management branch of Cowen Group.
