| In a letter to investors today, Tim Barakett of activist hedge fund manager Atticus Capital announced that he was leaving the firm and winding down his Atticus Global Fund. Mr. Barakett claims he is leaving to spend time with his family, but according to an article by Teri Buhl, it’s likely that fighting over investment strategies with partner David Slager is the real reason. According to the article, Mr. Slager will remain with the firm and continue to manage his Atticus European Fund.
