SEC Uncovers $10 million Fraud in Oklahoma

Last week, the SEC charged former Quest Resource Corporation executives Jerry Cash and David Grose with securities fraud for misappropriating an estimated $10 million. The two Oklahoma City residents stand accused of transferring funds from Quest Energy Partners LP to another company that they controlled from June 2004 to August 2008. Concealing the transfers by making it appear as if the money was returned to Quest, the two former executives then used the money for personal expenses, including a lavish mansion in Oklahoma City. The transfers were also not adequately reported by Quest.
In a press release, the Director of the SEC's Fort Worth Regional Office, Rose Romero, commented "Cash and Grose treated Quest like a personal piggy bank and then lied about their wrongdoing to the company's investors and auditor.”
