Sri Wijegoonaratna and Peter Early launch Galle Global Macro Partners

| Sri "Wije" Wijegoonaratna, former Managing Director at Fortress Investment Group has launched a new global macro hedge fund manager, Galle Global Macro Partners. According to the Wall Street Journal, Wijegoonaratna, who was in charge of one of Fortress' largest funds, Drawbridge Global Macro, is also the president of Sri Lanka Care, a charity devoted to people living in poverty. The Drawbridge Global Macro fund lost more than 20% in 2008 during the crisis but was up 22% by the end of December during a year when Hennessee Group tracked a 25% average return for Global Macro funds. Galle Global Macro was co-founded by Peter Early who has over 15 years of global macro investing experience. Most recently, Mr. Early headed the wealth management business of Guggenheim Partners. Earlier in his career, Early co-founded Big Sky Capital and before that he oversaw Asian trading at Julian Robertson’s Tiger Management. | ||
