Steel Partners Japan's O'Friel Resigns, Replaced by Tanaka

| The head of Steel Partners’ Japan-based team, Mark O'Friel, has resigned and has been replaced by Katsuyoshi Tanaka. According to Reuters, Mr. O'Friel joined Steel Partners last summer following the departure of co-founder Yusuke Nishi. Prior to Steel Partners, Mr. O'Friel worked for Morgan Stanley in Japan. Mr. Tanaka joined the firm in 2006 as a managing director, following almost 20 years with Mitsubishi Corp. In his previous role, Mr. Tanaka was dynamically involved in many of the activist hedge fund managers’ highly publicized battles. Steel Partners was founded by CEO Warren Lichtenstein and Lawrence Butler in 1990. The firm is based in New York with an additional office in Tokyo. | ||
