Sun-Times Media Faces Another Activist: Davidson Kempner Capital Management

| Today, Davidson Kempner Advisers Inc announced in a SEC filing that it has acquired a 5.9% stake in the Sun-Times Media Group Inc. (SUTM). The filing stated that Davidson Kempner has “become concerned about (Sun-Times Media Group Inc’s) performance and the many challenges facing (it). As a result of this concern, (Davidson Kempner’s managers) have been analyzing the Issuer's operations, obligations and governance structure with a view to determining how best to maximize value for shareholders. As reported earlier, another activist investor, K Capital, has been pushing for change at the company since late 2007. | ||
