The Children's Investment Fund (TCI) has closed out of a large short position that it had held in Toshiba Corp. (6502.TO). According to the Financial Times, closing out of the position, which represented approximately 4% of Toshiba’s shares out, resulted in a loss of up to $104 million for TCI. TCI had been betting that the Japanese electronics company would underperform as it sought to raise capital through a new common stock offering.
