Chris Shumway, the Tiger cub who founded Shumway Capital Partners in 2002, recently announced his decision to decrease his involvement in the hedge fund’s
daily investment decisions. According to Reuters, Mr. Shumway will assume the role of CEO, while Tom Wilcox will step into Mr. Shumway’s shoes as chief investment officer. Before founding Shumway Capital, Mr. Shumway was a member of the management committee and a managing director of macro strategy at Julian Robertson’s Tiger Management.

Because of the management shifts, Mr. Shumway has given investors an extension on the redemption request period. Shumway Capital Partners currently manages $9 billion in assets.
