Paul Tudor Jones’ Tudor Capital Management, Bain Capital’s Brookside Capital Partners and recently launched Woodbine Capital Advisors have stopped accepting investor money after experiencing large inflows of capital this year. Tudor Capital’s flagship BVI Global Fund Ltd took in $1.3bn before closing to inflows, while Brookside Capital saw close to $1bn in fresh cash. According to an article from Bloomberg, Woodbine Capital Advisors, which was founded by Soros Fund Management veterans Josh Berkowitz and Marcel Kasumovich, launched in January of 2009 with $200mm under management. The Global Macro focused Woodbine decided to cut-off inflows as assets ballooned to $2.5 billion.

Across the pond, London-based stalwart Brevan Howard Asset Management has also reportedly closed-off the Brevan Howard Asia Fund and the Brevan Howard Emerging Market Strategies Fund to new investors.

The article also mentioned a couple other marquee hedge fund managers that have seen significant inflows, but as of now, have not made moves to restrict investments. These firms include Steven Cohen’s SAC Capital Management, which has seen inflows of $1.3bn into its flagship fund, and JPMorgan’s hedge fund subsidiary Highbridge Capital Management LLC, which has seen inflows of $500mm.
