Ziff Brothers Investment LLC will become a primary investor in a Honk Kong-based hedge fund that will launch in the next couple of months. According to Bloomberg News, the new hedge fund, which will focus on long/short equity investments, will be managed by Gregard Heje, formerly of Ziff Brothers Investments LLC.

Hehe Kontiki Capital Management (HK) Ltd. will become the next Asia hedge-fund in a line of startups spawned by high profile international firms since the 2008 global financial crisis. A former executive from Highbridge Capital Management launched the Myriad Opportunities Master Fund in 2011 and is already managing more than $2 billion. Gregard Hehe’s new venture will be well-staffed by a dozen former Ziff Brothers Investment LLC employees.
